A group of 20 Changemakers representing the Group, Bank Windhoek and Capricorn Asset Management kicked off the Regional Christmas Drive on Wednesday, 4 December, spreading the Christmas cheer at the Hope Village in Windhoek. Hope Village is a nurturing home for 77 orphans and vulnerable children aged between five weeks and 22 years. The employees, in their role as ChangeMakers, spent time with the children, handing out gifts and clothes donated by employees, playing fun games and serving a delicious braai platter. Employees went the extra mile to make the day special. Florence Kamuhuju, from Bank Windhoek Credit Department, shared her experience: “What we think and see is not always the reality. Hope Village is such a well-organized home that has changed the lives of so many children. We should be grateful and realise that what we have means so much to the next person. The ChangeMaker programme does make an impact, and as an individual, you really feel that you contribute to making that difference."
Marlize Horn, Capricorn Group Executive: Brand & Corporate Affairs, expressed her gratitude to the group of Changemakers: “We are deeply thankful for our open-hearted employees who embody the spirit of giving. Their dedication and willingness to make a difference brought joy and hope to communities in need this Christmas."
Through their efforts, Capricorn Group's Changemakers proved that small acts of kindness can create a lasting impact, bringing warmth and hope to those who need it most.
The Regional Christmas Drive will continue until Friday, 6 December 2024.
